Abstract
New cardiovascular forceps have been conceived and a prototype of the new design has been fabricated. The new forceps feature a pair of gripping edges mounted on the tips of the handles at a 45-degree angle. Opening and closing the gripping ends are done in the same manner as conventional forceps. These new forceps are found to be quite effective when gripping tissues in narrow, deep operative fields.
